KHOU-TV Channel 11 has captured the number one position for its noon, 5, 6 and 10 o’clock news broadcasts according to the Nielsen Station Index for February.* KHOU averaged an 8.8 rating during 11News at 5 scoring 1.5 points better than its nearest competitor. At 6pm, 11News did a 9.5 rating for 1.1 point lead over its nearest competitor. At 10pm, KHOU did a rating of 11.2 giving 11News a 1.2 point lead over its nearest competitor.

“Month by month 11News is building momentum,” says KHOU-TV President and General Manager, Peter Diaz. “Three months ago, we were the most watched late newscast in Houston. Today, we can extend the statement to say we’re the most watched newscast at noon, 5pm, 6pm and 10pm. I’m proud to say that more Houstonians get their news from 11News than another local or cable station.”

KHOU won the noon day part with 11News at noon and finished second with its morning newscast. KHOU won the 4 o’clock time period with the Oprah Winfrey Show and also wins prime access with Wheel of Fortune at 6:30pm. KHOU wins prime time with a strong CBS line-up. KHOU is Houston’s number one television station from sign-on to sign off. Houston is the nation’s eleventh largest television market.
