Because multiple blogs, cams, a carnival, and podcasting weren't enough

Laurence Simon has taken on catblogging duties at Chron.com.  His blog is called Catcall, although I, too, liked the Houston Scratching Post.

Can Laurence be tamed for the (mostly) family-friendly environment at Chron.com?  Keep checking Catcall to find out.

Post lots of kitty pictures, Laurence!

Will you be featuring the cat fights between that East-end Alley Cat and the Cheshie-like Persian Cat from Clear Lake each week at City Hall?

What I look forward to the most is the comments there. I'm hoping that this turns into a free-for-all forum or something like that.

Tally Ho!  I'm in.  The only photos of cats I can get are the ones lurking in the wife's garden trying to kill the song birds.  Lots of feathers and blood - thank goodness the pigeons are so dumb and slow.

Was the Chron opposed to using a name that included the word "Post?"

Not sure, but they certainly have no problem with a guy who has Mr. Crap as one of his aliases.

Actually, Mr. Crap submitted four names, Catcall and The Houston Scratching Post among them. I simply liked Catcall best -- short, snappy, funny -- and I didn't even think about the reference to the Houston Post until I read it here.

My favorite blog name in the chron.Commons is Mama Drama.
